Black History Month
Each grade level explored the work of a different Black artist, using their unique styles and perspectives as inspiration to create artworks that celebrate culture, identity, and creative expression.
With many students from Hispanic and Latin American backgrounds, this unit explores diverse cultural traditions across Spanish-speaking and Latin American communities. Through studying traditional art, symbols, and stories, students created work that connects cultural identity with personal expression.

Chinese New Year
Through this project, students were introduced to the cultural traditions of Chinese New Year and invited to explore its symbols through their own artistic lens. The artworks reflect not only celebration and tradition, but also each student’s unique perspective and voice.
4th grade
The Year of the Horse-Paper Cut
Inspired by Chinese papercutting traditions for the Year of the Horse, students explored folding, cutting, and symbolism to create bold, expressive silhouettes.
Inspired by the Chinese Lion Dance, students explored symmetry, color, and cultural symbolism through vibrant mixed-media artworks.
